Grafenberger Allee 286

In summer 1972, students squatted the vacant house No. 286 in Düsseldorf's Grafenberger Allee and the owning company, if I remember well, Haniel & Lueg or might be “Neuen Heimat”, agreed to rent it for the purpose of living for a limited period. A residential community, that consisted almost exclusively of students from the Art Academy Düsseldorf, formed itself. The Grafenberger Allee 286 became a lively place for intellectual and artistic exchange during the period 1972-1977 (at the end of 77 I left the community and have no further information about the members and its changes).

I was able to find some information and pictures from some the members of this community, which I would like to add here as info (if someone does not agree with the publication about their person, then kindly let me know so that we can make the correction required)

Berndt Evi

Evi Berndt is married to Bob Krieps, director general of the Ministry of Culture of Luxembourg, the former director of Sacem Luxembourg, and the former president of the Luxembourg Film Fund. Their daughter is the actress Vicky Krieps. On internet I found some

It seems that Evi Krieps is active in the organization of cultural events in Luxembourg which gives visibility to artists who are rarely seen elsewhere. This needs verification.

In the 90's he moved to Luxembourg and worked for IP, at that time the most important marketing and publicity company in Luxembourg. In 1999 he co-founded the publicity company Millenium with which he was successful until the bank crash in 2008/9 when his company had to file for bankruptcy. Claude continued to work in the publicity business. In 2012 he committed suicide.
